What you will need: 

Visas for U.S. citizens are issued upon arrival at all ports of entry. All non-US Passport holders please submit the following:

  1. Passport – You must provide your signed passport. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have two adjacent blank pages available.
  2. Kuwait Visa Application Forms – Please provide (2) completed visa application forms; click here for a .pdf of the application. Because the application changes on occasion, we’ve also provided a link to the Kuwait Embassy website so you may get the most recent version directly from the Embassy website. The application form must be filled out completely and have answers for all fields. It must display your full name as appears in your passport, and it must be signed.
  3. Washington Express Visas Visa Request Form – filled out completely.
  4. Photograph – Please provide two color, identical, passport size photos. The photograph must be printed on photo paper, it must be 2″ by 2″ and have a white background, and it must have been taken in the last 6 months.

  5. A business letter from the sending company in the US. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Kuwait”, and signed by a superior (an equivalent to supervisor or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
  • State the nature of the business to be conducted (i.e., business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Kuwait.

PERSONS GOING FOR EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Government Contract: copy of Letter of Appointment from Kuwait.
  2. Private Sector: Work Permit issued by the General Department of Immigration Affairs in Kuwait. (If spouse or family members are accompanying applicant, Work permit, No Objection Certificate or Letter of Appointment must indicate that.)
  3. HIV test (AIDS test).
  4. Health Certificate: Obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases. Lab test results for the following: hepatitis B & C, malaria, filariasis, syphilis and chest X-ray for tuberculosis.
  5. No Criminal Record: Obtained from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), valid within three months of the issuance date of the Permit. The “No Criminal Record” has to be certified first by the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C., then legalized by the Embassy with a $25.00 Authentication fee.
  6. Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a single or multiple entry business visa).
  7. Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel

Kuwait Consular Fees:

  • Single Entry – $150 (single-entry visas)
  • Multiple Entry -$100 (multiple-entry visas)

Washington Express Service/Fees:

  • Regular Service (5 business days): $250

No vaccinations are required to enter China (People’s Rep.) from any country.

Recommended:

  • Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk – including the malignant (P. Falciparum) form – occurs in Hainan and Yunnan. Chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine resistant P. falciparum reported. Risk of P. Vivax malaria exists in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Sichuan, Xizang (only along the valley of the Zangbo river in the extreme south-east) and Yunnan. There is generally very low malaria risk (P. vivax only) in Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Shandong, although within these provinces this risk may be higher in areas of local outbreak. Where transmission exists, it occurs below 1500 m: from July to November north of latitude 33 degrees north, from May through December between 33 and 25 degrees north, and throughout the year south of 25 degrees north. There is no malaria risk in the urban areas or densely populated plain areas. In general, tourists do not need to take malaria prophylaxis unless they plan to stay in remote rural areas in the provinces listed above. Recommended prevention in risk areas:II ; in Hainan and Yunnan: IV
  • Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival.
  • Different passport validity may be required when applying for a visa.
  • Valid visas or resident permits in expired passports are accepted, provided holding valid passport of the same nationality.
  • Travel on a one-way ticket is accepted. Visitors must hold sufficient funds to cover their stay and all documents required for their next destination.

Warning:

  • Passengers not complying with the entry or transit regulations will be deported by same or returning aircraft.
